artist statement

I am interested in the complex relationship that hunting culture has established with nature. Hunting can be the epitome of humankind’s oppositional relationship with nature, but it can also represent a communion with nature. In my work I seek points of friction, where culturally constructed definitions of nature and culture, animal and human, begin to break down.

what did you love about the MFA program at UO?

What I loved about being a graduate student in the art at the University of Oregon is the individual attention that I was able to receive from my professors. They made themselves available to the graduate students despite their other obligations as working artists and teachers.
